Pharmacogenomics

Pharmacogenomic TestTargeted PGx Panel · CPIC & PharmGKB-Aligned · Drug Response Genotyping

A focused pharmacogenomic panel analysing only the genetic variants known to influence drug metabolism, efficacy, and adverse drug reactions. No lifestyle, ancestry, or general health traits — purely actionable prescribing-relevant genotypes.

What is Pharmacogenomic Testing?

Pharmacogenomics (PGx) studies how genetic variation affects a person's response to medications. Variants in metabolising enzymes, drug transporters and HLA types can predict whether a drug will work as expected, whether standard dosing is appropriate, and whether someone is at elevated risk of an adverse reaction. This panel is scoped strictly to genes with established CPIC or PharmGKB guidance.

Drug Metabolism

How quickly drugs are activated or cleared

Drug Efficacy

Likelihood a medication will achieve its intended effect

Adverse Reactions

Risk of hypersensitivity or toxicity events

Genes Analysed

The panel covers clinically relevant pharmacogenes including:

CYP2D6

Metabolism of ~25% of prescribed drugs (antidepressants, opioids, antipsychotics)

CYP2C19

Clopidogrel, PPIs, SSRIs activation/metabolism

CYP2C9

Warfarin, NSAIDs, phenytoin metabolism

CYP3A5

Tacrolimus dosing in transplant recipients

CYP4F2

Vitamin K metabolism, warfarin response

VKORC1

Warfarin sensitivity

TPMT

Thiopurine toxicity risk (azathioprine, mercaptopurine)

NUDT15

Thiopurine toxicity risk

DPYD

Fluoropyrimidine (5-FU, capecitabine) toxicity

SLCO1B1

Statin-induced myopathy risk

UGT1A1

Irinotecan and atazanavir metabolism

NAT2

Isoniazid acetylation

G6PD

Haemolysis risk with oxidative drugs

HLA-A

Hypersensitivity (e.g. carbamazepine)

HLA-B

Severe cutaneous reactions (abacavir, allopurinol, carbamazepine)

IFNL3

Hepatitis C antiviral response

And other PharmGKB / CPIC-recognised genes where validated prescribing guidance exists.

What's on Your Report?

  • Metaboliser status (poor, intermediate, normal, rapid, ultra-rapid) for each gene
  • Drug–gene interaction summaries aligned to CPIC guidelines
  • Flags for drugs requiring dose adjustment or avoidance
  • HLA-linked hypersensitivity risk markers
  • Plain-language explanations suitable for sharing with prescribing clinicians

Important Limitations

PGx results inform prescribing decisions but do not replace clinical judgement. Never start, stop or change a medication based on these results without consulting a qualified prescriber.

  • • Covers only pharmacogenes with established CPIC/PharmGKB guidance
  • • No lifestyle, ancestry or non-prescribing health insights are reported
  • • Drug response is also influenced by age, organ function, diet, and co-medications
  • • Rare or novel variants may not be captured by the targeted panel
  • • Guidelines evolve — results should be re-interpreted against current CPIC guidance over time
